The previous release of Redsn0w which is 0.9.6RC10 and RC11 were somewhat buggy when it came to custom boot animations. But thankfully, that issue has been fixed in RC12.
Redsn0w 0.9.6RC12 jailbreaks iOS 4.3.1 untethered on all iOS devices except for the iPad 2. It is available for both Windows and Mac.
